Twaddle is a language-learning application operated by Reality Studios LLC (“Reality Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a company based in the United States.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use Twaddle, including the mobile application listed as Twaddle: Language Learning (the “Service”). It also explains the privacy choices and rights that may be available to you.
This Privacy Policy is intended to provide information required under applicable privacy laws, which may include, depending on the circumstances, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), applicable United Kingdom data-protection law, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”), the California Online Privacy Protection Act (“CalOPPA”), Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”), Brazil’s Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (“LGPD”), and other applicable privacy laws.
The applicability of a particular law depends on factors such as your location, our activities, and the law’s statutory requirements.
We seek to limit our collection of personal information to information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and operate Twaddle.
When you create or use a Twaddle account, we may process:
Twaddle currently supports email-based authentication, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple.
If you use Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, the applicable provider may provide us with information necessary to authenticate and associate your account, subject to the information made available by that provider and your settings with them.
Twaddle does not require your phone number or physical address to create an account.
We collect and store information necessary to personalize your learning experience and track your progress. Depending on how you use Twaddle, this may include:
We use this information to provide and personalize Twaddle’s language-learning functionality.
Twaddle includes optional pronunciation features that require access to your device’s microphone.
When you choose to use a pronunciation feature, Twaddle temporarily records your speech and transmits the audio to Microsoft Azure Speech Services for pronunciation assessment. Microsoft Azure processes the audio and returns pronunciation feedback to Twaddle.
Reality Studios does not store your pronunciation recordings on its servers. Audio temporarily held by the app is discarded after you leave the pronunciation-feedback experience.
Pronunciation-assessment results are returned to the app so Twaddle can provide pronunciation feedback. Twaddle does not currently persist the pronunciation recording or resulting pronunciation scores in your Supabase account data.
Microsoft processes information submitted to Azure Speech Services according to Microsoft’s own terms and privacy practices.
Twaddle does not use your voice recording to identify you through voice biometrics, for advertising, or to create a voice profile.
Twaddle may offer subscriptions, credit packs, or other purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
We use RevenueCat to help manage purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, credits, refunds, and related functionality.
We may process or store information such as:
Reality Studios does not receive or store your full credit-card number, CVV, or other payment-card credentials.
Payment processing is handled by Apple or Google through their respective app stores.
The current version of Twaddle:
If these practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and applicable app-store privacy disclosures.
The current version of Twaddle does not provide an AI chat service that sends user conversations or user-written prompts to a generative AI provider.
Some lesson content was created with the assistance of artificial-intelligence tools before being included in Twaddle. This content-generation process does not involve sending your personal information, conversations, or prompts to an AI model.
Microsoft Azure’s processing of pronunciation audio, described above, is separate from this pre-generated lesson content.
We may use information collected through Twaddle to:
We do not currently use personal information collected through Twaddle to send newsletters, advertisements, or other promotional emails.
Twaddle may send or facilitate transactional communications necessary to operate your account, such as authentication or one-time verification codes.
We will not materially expand the purposes for which we use personal information without providing any notice or obtaining any consent required by applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may disclose information to service providers that process information on our behalf or provide infrastructure necessary to operate Twaddle.
We use Supabase for services including authentication, database infrastructure, server-side functions, and storage of account and learning information.
Information processed using Supabase may include your email address, account identifier, profile information, learning progress, vocabulary information, lesson-attempt information, entitlements, credits, and other application information described in this Privacy Policy.
We use Microsoft Azure Speech Services to provide pronunciation assessment.
When you choose to use pronunciation assessment, your recorded audio is transmitted to Microsoft Azure for processing. Reality Studios does not store that recording on its servers.
We use RevenueCat to manage purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, credits, and related purchase information.
RevenueCat may process information such as purchase history, transaction information, app-user identifiers, subscription information, and technical information necessary to provide its services.
Apple and Google may process information when you download Twaddle, authenticate using their services, or make purchases through their respective app stores.
Their independent processing of information is governed by their own privacy policies and agreements with you.
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to:
If Reality Studios is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information associated with Twaddle may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or another law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing personal data, we may rely on the following bases.
We process information where necessary to provide the Service you request, including maintaining your account, saving learning progress, providing lessons and features, and providing purchased functionality.
We may rely on consent where required, including for certain processing involving microphone access or pronunciation audio.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing performed before consent was withdrawn.
You may also revoke microphone permission through your device settings. Pronunciation functionality will not work without microphone access.
We may process limited information where necessary for legitimate interests such as operating, securing, maintaining, and protecting Twaddle, provided those interests are not overridden by your applicable rights and interests.
We may process or retain information where necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations.
We seek to collect only personal information reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not intend to use personal information for materially unrelated purposes unless permitted by applicable law or unless we provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information as described below.
We retain account and learning information while your account is active or as otherwise reasonably necessary to provide Twaddle and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
You can initiate deletion of your Twaddle account from within the app through Settings.
When your account is deleted, Twaddle deletes the Supabase authentication account and associated user information configured to be deleted with the account, including:
Twaddle does not currently maintain server-side AI conversation history.
Certain records may be retained where reasonably necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.
For example, certain RevenueCat webhook records used as a transaction or audit trail may remain after account deletion after the associated Twaddle user identifier has been removed from those records.
Information may also temporarily remain in infrastructure backups until those backups expire or are overwritten according to the applicable provider’s backup-retention practices.
Deleting your Twaddle account does not automatically delete information independently maintained by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other third-party providers under their own legal obligations and privacy practices.
Deleting your Twaddle account does not necessarily cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. You may need to cancel an active subscription separately through the applicable app store.
If you have questions about account deletion, contact support@realitystudios.org.

Reality Studios does not currently sell personal information.
Twaddle does not currently use third-party advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Accordingly, Twaddle does not currently provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism because we do not engage in the sale or sharing practices for which such an opt-out would be required.
If these practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.
Certain information may receive additional protection under California law depending on the circumstances.
Twaddle processes microphone recordings only when you choose to use pronunciation functionality and only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not use microphone recordings for voice identification, advertising, or behavioral profiling.
California residents may submit applicable privacy requests by emailing support@realitystudios.org.
We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity. Where applicable law permits the use of an authorized agent, we may request information reasonably necessary to verify the agent’s authority and your identity.
The current version of Twaddle does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs to track your activity across unrelated websites, applications, or online services for behavioral advertising.
Because Twaddle does not currently engage in this type of cross-service tracking, the app does not alter its behavior in response to browser-based Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals.
Third-party service providers identified in this Privacy Policy may independently process information necessary to provide their services. We do not authorize those providers to use Twaddle data to track users across unrelated services for behavioral advertising on our behalf.
If our tracking practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.
If Brazil’s Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) applies to our processing of your personal data, you may have rights provided by Brazilian law.

Where Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) or another applicable Canadian privacy law applies, we seek to handle personal information according to applicable principles of accountability, identified purposes, consent, limited collection, limited use and retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and the ability to challenge compliance.
We collect, use, and disclose personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and seek to limit collection to information reasonably necessary for those purposes.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
Our safeguards are intended to be appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of the information we process.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Please contact us if you believe your Twaddle account has been compromised.
Twaddle is not designed for or directed to children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Twaddle, please contact us at support@realitystudios.org.
Additional age or parental-consent requirements may apply under the laws of a user’s country or region.
Pronunciation practice is optional.
Twaddle requests microphone access when necessary to provide pronunciation features.
You may deny or revoke microphone permission through your device settings. You can continue using Twaddle features that do not require microphone access, but pronunciation-assessment functionality will not work without it.
Reality Studios does not currently use information collected through Twaddle to send newsletters, advertisements, or other promotional communications.
We may send or facilitate communications strictly related to your account or use of Twaddle, such as authentication or one-time verification codes.
If we introduce marketing communications in the future, we will update our practices and provide any notices, consent mechanisms, and unsubscribe options required by applicable law.
